SOCIAL MEDIA

As a new American Virtual Pilot, it’s essential to stay connected with our community. All our communications now run through social media channels, with Discord being the most important. It is the best way to get real-time updates and share information about our many activities. Joining our Discord server is a mandatory step in the on-boarding process, and you’ll receive an invitation as soon as your admission is complete. Discord is always active, engaging, and the fastest way to stay informed and involved.

RANK STRUCTURE

American Virtual is a rank based organization. The table below illustrates the type of rankings currently enforced as well as the hourly requirements and equipment availability attached to each one. It is important to have a clear up front picture of what you will be able to fly immediately. It’s also helpful to know we have many different ways to give extra hours through various events.

HUB PLACEMENT

American Virtual closely mimics the real-world operations of its counterpart. Currently, we operate from ten (10) HUBS within the United States. After successfully passing the Crew assessment test, you will have the opportunity to register in our Training Academy and select a desired hub. However, due to crew management and operational support, not all ten Hubs may be available at all times. After graduation from the Academy, if you happen to not be assigned to your Hub of choice, you will still be able to request a Hub transfer after 30 days.

ONLINE NETWORK FLYING

Our Virtual Airline does not require pilots to fly on VATSIM, IVAO, PILOTEDGE, and similar organizations. However, we strongly encourage online flying to complete the experience and foster knowledge growth. All American Virtual Pilots opting to fly on VATSIM must comply with VATSIM’s User Agreement and VATSIM’s Code of Conduct and represent our company in a flawless, professional manner when flying on any network.

TAKEOFF DECISION TIME

If you meet all the conditions referenced in this page and you believe to be a good fit for our community WE ARE THRILLED to invite you to continue the application process.

The first phase revolves around the admission assessment. A test largely based on the information in the American Operations Manual (AOM). To complete this part, the first step is to download and assimilate its contents.

Please use the link below to download the American Virtual AOH:
AMERICANVA OPERATIONS HANDBOOK

Whenever you feel confident to start the assessment just return to this page and use the “TAKEOFF” link at the bottom of the page.
Below you will find some helpful tips

  • There is no clock assigned to the test however it must be taken from start to finish and you need an 80% score to pass. Once you successfully complete the test you will be given a registration link.
  • The admission test needs to be taken in one session. Please do NOT click the back button or you will lose all of your progress.
  • We suggest you take your time to download and review the Company Manual (AOH) provided and that you take your time  understanding and answering the questions.
